"Four is Fun" the party

For my son's fourth birthday we decided to go with a robot theme.  I was thrilled because I had been keeping my eye out for cute stuff and had happened to see some cute robot stuff.  I started by decorating our mantel.  I cut out a birthday banner using the cricut and cut out some gears to decorate too.  All of the robots were cut using the Robotz Cricut cartridge. 

Of course there has to be a dessert table....

I saw these silicone cupcake molds one day while googling robot themed stuff.  They are by Fred and Friends.  I think they are the cutest ever!  I just knew we'd have to get them for the party.

Being that the robot molds were so expensive, we only bought two sets, so for the rest of the cupcakes my husband designed some toppers for me and my wonderful friend Mary Lynn cut them out assembled them.

I cut out the favor boxes using, I believe, the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, and filled them with mini slinkies, some gumballs and some robot stickers.

Here's another view of the mantel where I used slinkies and funnels to decorate, and I love using candy in apothecary jars to decorate too!

Here is the banner I made, once again from the Robotz cartridge, that hung between the two rooms.  I just used miniature clothespins to hang them, so they could be taken down and played with later.

I cut out vinyl, using the cricut, and decorated the utensil caddy, making it look like a control panel.

My father-in-law helped me make the cake pop displays.  We used foam core and made a box.  We drilled holes in it for chasing LED lights in the front and holes on the top for the cake pop sticks.  I once again cut out vinyl to make it look like a control panel.

Here's my birthday boy sporting the shirt I made.  I simply used a iron on applique for the front...

and cut out a vinyl stencil, using the cricut, for the back...

Oh and I can't forget his robot tattoo.  All of the the kids got to pick out a robot tattoo.

I forgot to photograph a few other things, but I will mention them to give any of you out there ideas in case you might be planning a robot party.  We used my son's Halloween costume from the two Halloweens before, it was a robot made from diaper boxes, to put on our porch for decoration.  It lit up too.  As for games, we had pin the gear on the robot, robot freeze dance and a robot part relay race (we divided the kids into two teams and made them carry washers on spoons across the room, the older kids had to carry them on their noses). 
Here's a few collages I threw together of all of the pictures.  There are a few that I didn't feature big because they were just pictures of the food labels.  They were pretty neat labels that my husband designed.  He was such a big help.

And four is most definitely fun!!!
